Industrial Exhaust Fan Ducts

The duct type is selected according to the exhaust stream and installation environment. Industrial systems may use corrosion-resistant thermoplastic or FRP ductwork alongside PVC, polypropylene, PPs-EL, or FRP fans. Material selection should account for chemical compatibility, temperature, static pressure, spark sensitivity, mounting arrangement, and whether the system requires an in-duct, roof-mounted, axial, or centrifugal fan.

A duct size for a 400 CFM exhaust fan cannot be selected from airflow alone. The design should consider the required air velocity, duct length, fittings, static pressure, discharge arrangement, and the fan curve. Confirm the fan’s operating point and system resistance with the equipment supplier or specifying engineer before finalising the duct diameter and layout.
